The Solar City program offers property owners in the municipality of Halifax access to innovative solar energy options, which can be financed through a solar collector account with the Halifax Regional Municipality in Nova Scotia, Canada.
We were asked to create an identity for Solar City that was simple and instantly recognisable.
The design comprised of two spheres to accommodate the words 'solar' and 'city'. These also represent the sun and solar rays. We did this by 'layering' the two spheres. One with a solid outline to directly depict the sun while the other sphere comprised of 'rays'.
We also explored additional concepts that took on a more literal approach.
